Jim Black

VP & CIO at Messer

Jim graduated from Purdue University, earning a bachelor’s degree in mathematics in 1980. He joined Messer in 2022, bringing over 30 years of strategic and tactical IT leadership experience.

Jim spent the bulk of his career leading technology in the manufacturing sector, serving the construction and automotive industries. More recently, he has served in executive IT advisory and consulting roles for several large and small companies and institutions, most of which have been in the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky areas.

In the community, Jim serves as a board member and Executive Treasurer for the Ripley County Community Foundation in Indiana. He also leads the technology committee for Bethany House Services and serves the Greater Cincinnati Foundation as a technology committee member. In the past, Jim served as troop scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America in the Dan Beard Council of Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.
