Matthew W. Barney

Matt began his career with Messer in 2007 after graduating from the University of Dayton. He earned an MBA from Xavier University in 2011 and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Matt's experience includes a broad range of responsibilities in the Finance Department, including project, cost, and corporate accounting, tax, and financial and capital planning. His work has focused on Messer Construction Co., but also extends to several entities in the Messer family, including numerous joint ventures and Messer's benefits plans. Matt's focus is supporting our projects, departments, customers and businesses through financial controls, planning and insight.

Matt is the board chair of Purcell Marian High School, serves on the finance committee of the UC Economic Center, and is an Executive Mentor at Xavier University.​
