Philip Tan is an Associate Professor of Engineering at Messiah University, where responsibilities include developing and teaching a variety of mechanical and biomedical engineering courses and launching a motion capture laboratory. Simultaneously, Philip serves as a Project Manager at The Collaboratory for Strategic Partnerships and Applied Research, leading student teams to design solutions for international clients. Previous experience includes a role as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Virginia, where work focused on cardiac mechano-signaling and device design, as well as teaching assistant positions at both Old Dominion University and Grove City College. Philip earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Grove City College.
