Penny Endersby Cbe Freng

Chief Executive at Met Office

Penny Endersby CBE FREng is the Chief Executive of the Met Office, a position held since November 2018. In addition to this role, Penny serves as a Visiting Professor at both the University of Exeter and the University of Southampton, focusing on physics and the environment. As of January 2023, Penny holds the position of Independent Chair for the Dartmoor National Park Steering Group and has recently been appointed President of the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts, effective December 2023. Previous experience includes various roles at Dstl, culminating in Acting Chief Technical Officer. Penny has also contributed as a Non-Executive Director at Ploughshare Innovations and served on the Board of Trustees for the Institute of Physics. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge.
