Andrew Stanley

Andrew Stanley is a highly experienced researcher and engineer specializing in mechanical engineering with a focus on haptics and robotics. Andrew's career includes significant roles such as Research Scientist at Meta, where efforts are directed towards integrating tactile feedback into virtual reality. Prior to this, Andrew served as a Robotic Algorithms and Control Engineer at Intuitive Surgical, where surgical instruments were modeled and controlled through algorithm development, and as a Research Assistant at the CHARM Lab at Stanford University, focusing on innovative tactile displays for medical simulation. Earlier experience includes internship positions at Acro Associates and Google, as well as a Research Assistant role at Haptics Group, GRASP Lab at UPenn, working on wearable tactile actuators for stroke rehabilitation. Andrew holds a PhD and a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, along with a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania, graduating summa cum laude.
