Katherine Buchanan

Katherine Buchanan is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in policy strategy, event management, and leadership. As the Founder and Executive Director of The Purple Scarf Society, Katherine developed a career search course and executed numerous events focused on women’s empowerment. Subsequent roles include serving as Policy Events Manager at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, where Katherine advised on climate policy initiatives, and Policy Product Strategy and Governance Manager at Meta, preparing briefings for high-level meetings and collaborating on global tech policy alignment. Katherine's background also includes nonprofit fundraising and communications, exemplified by significant contributions during tenures at organizations like The Aspen Institute and Wofford College. Katherine holds a Bachelor's degree in Religion (High Honors) and French Language and Literature from Wofford College.
