Laird Malamed is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in operations, consulting, and education within the interactive media and gaming industries. Currently serving as the Director of Operations for RL-Research at Meta, Laird previously held key executive roles including founding COO and CFO of Oculus VR, where significant contributions included the successful closing of funding rounds and a major acquisition by Facebook. Laird is also an adjunct professor at the University of Southern California, a trustee at the California Science Center, and has served on various boards including iCivics and Creative Learning Technologies Corp. With a rich background that includes overseeing major titles at Activision and expertise in sound editing at Sony Pictures Entertainment, Laird holds degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the University of Southern California.
