Martin Karp

Research Scientist

Martin Karp is a Research Scientist at Meta, involved in AI/HPC systems since July 2025. Prior to this, Martin served as a Visiting Researcher at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg in October 2023 and as a Visiting Scholar at Stanford University in July 2024, focusing on the sensitivity of numerical simulations of turbulence to lower floating-point precision. Martin held positions as a Teaching Assistant and Postdoctoral Researcher at KTH Royal Institute of Technology from January 2021 to June 2024, contributing to courses related to High Performance Computing. Martin earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science with a specialization in High Performance Computing and Visualization from KTH Royal Institute of Technology between 2020 and 2024 and holds a Master's degree in Engineering Physics from Lund University, completed in 2020, along with an exchange year in Computer Science at ETH Zürich from 2018 to 2019.
