Salim Boutami

Salim Boutami is an accomplished researcher with extensive experience in photonics and device modeling. Currently serving as a Research Scientist at Meta since March 2021, Boutami previously worked as a Visiting Scholar at Stanford University in Professor Shanhui Fan's group from October 2017 to December 2018. Prior to that, Boutami spent over a decade at CEA - Commissariat à l'énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives from November 2007 to February 2020, specializing as a senior expert in the modeling and design of photonic devices. Boutami holds a PhD from École Centrale de Lyon, where an Engineer's degree was also earned, and completed an HDR - Habilitation à Diriger les Recherches in 2018.
