Shayak Banerjee

Shayak Banerjee is a skilled software engineer and machine learning expert currently working at Meta in Reality Labs since June 2024. Prior to this, Shayak held various leadership roles at Peloton Interactive, focusing on recommendations and personalization for member fitness journeys. Experience also includes significant contributions as a staff machine learning engineer at Meetup, where Shayak led a team and developed scalable recommendation systems, and as CTO at Shade, where Shayak built technology using machine learning algorithms. Early career experiences involve data science positions at Samsung Accelerator and EvoLux Transportation, as well as research roles at IBM, culminating in a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
