Shih-En Wei is a highly skilled research scientist with extensive experience in the fields of machine learning, computer vision, and robotics. Wei served as a Graduate Research Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University's Robotics Institute from August 2014 to May 2016, and as a Research Scientist at Meta from March 2019 to March 2021, where responsibilities included leading teams in creating photorealistic Codec Avatars using VR/AR device sensors, as well as working on face, eye, and body tracking technologies. Currently, Shih-En holds the position of Director Research Scientist at Meta since March 2024. Previous positions include a Machine Learning Software Engineer Internship at NVIDIA and research roles at the Intel-NTU Connected Context Computing Center and the Institute of Information Science at Academia Sinica.
