Simge Uzun

Simge Uzun, Ph.D., has extensive experience in textiles and materials engineering, with a focus on advanced fiber technologies and applications. As a Research Assistant at Cornell University (2014-2016) and Drexel University (2016-2017), significant contributions include developing nonwoven mats, thermoplastic coatings for carbon fibers, and functional fibers using conductive MXene inks. Uzun also served as an Entrepreneurial Lead with the National Science Foundation in late 2020, conducting industry interviews to assess startup viability. An internship at HP involved creating additive-free conductive inks for wearables, achieving notable cost reductions in production. Uzun's role as a Research Scientist at Meta from 2021 to 2022 emphasized expertise in e-textiles and engineered textiles.
