Tong Niu is a Senior Research Scientist at Meta since September 2025, previously holding the same title at Salesforce from October 2023 to September 2025, and has experience as a Research Intern at Salesforce from August 2019 to September 2025. Tong has focused on Natural Language Processing (NLP) research, contributing to top-tier conference submissions. Prior to this, Tong worked as a Research Assistant at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill under the guidance of advisor Mohit Bansal from July 2017 to April 2019, researching NLP. Tong holds a Ph.D. graduated as M.S. in Computer Science from Duke University (2014-2016) and a B.A. in Mathematics and Computer Science, with a minor in Physics, from the University of Virginia (2011-2014).
