Zhaodong Wang is a research scientist at Meta since May 2022, specializing in simulation, machine learning, and optimization for AI, data center, and backbone planning and operations. Previously, Zhaodong held the position of senior research engineer at Netflix and served as a research scientist in Facebook's networking infrastructure team, focusing on mathematical models and software solutions to enhance network efficiency and reliability. Academic experience includes a research assistant role at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and graduate student researcher roles with the US Army Corps of Engineers and CSX, where Zhaodong developed various modeling frameworks and algorithms. Zhaodong Wang holds a Ph.D. in Transportation and an M.S. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Tsinghua University.
