Alexey began their career in 1987 as a Principal Investigator, Group Leader, Senior Scientist, and Scientist at the State Research Center of Virology and Biotechnology VECTOR, where they designed molecular immunogens for a new generation of vaccines. In 1997, they moved to Axys Pharmaceuticals as a Senior Scientist. Alexey then went on to Akkadix Corporation as a Lead Scientist in 1999, followed by Elitra Pharmaceuticals as a Senior Informatics Scientist in 2001. At Elitra Pharmaceuticals, they established sequence and structure-related criteria to prioritize targets for development of broadly effective antifungals and antibacterials, and built software to prioritize targets. In 2003, they worked at US Genomics as a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist and at EraGen Biosciences as a Senior Scientist and Scientific Consultant. From 2004 to 2018, Alexey worked at Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute as Director of the Bioinformatics Core. In this role, they were responsible for genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and epigenetics data integration and analysis. In 2018, they joined Rancho BioSciences as a Bioinformatics Scientist, where they were responsible for data curation and harmonization of protein-protein interaction data from several databases, as well as data curation and harmonization of targeted gene knockouts for mouse, fish, and Drosophila melanogaster. Finally, in 2019, they joined Metabiomics as a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist and Group Leader.

Alexey Eroshkin has a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Molecular Biology from the State Research Center of Virology and Biotechnology Vector, Koltsovo, Novosibirsk Region.
