Simone de Faria Maraschin

Simone de Faria Maraschin, PhD has a diverse professional background in the field of biotechnology and business development. Starting as a Project Leader in Physiology at De Ruiter Seeds in 2005, they later moved on to become a Team Leader in Biotechnology at VILMORIN SA. Their career progressed to roles such as Head of Cell Biology & Breeding Department at Nestlé, and eventually, they held positions at QIMA Life Sciences, including Business Development Manager and Head of Business Development. Currently, Simone serves as the Business Development Director & International Sales at Metabolon, Inc. Their experience spans over two decades in various leadership roles within the industry.

Simone de Faria Maraschin, PhD obtained their Bachelor's degree in Agriculture Engineering from Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul in 1999. Simone then went on to complete their PhD in Plant Cell & Molecular Biology at Leiden University from 2000 to 2004. In 2017, they obtained an MBA from Nestlé.
