Dimitris Trakaniaris

Dimitris Trakaniaris is a dedicated social worker with extensive experience in child protection, safeguarding, and humanitarian action. Currently serving as a Social Worker specializing in Child Protection & Safeguarding at METAdrasi, Dimitris works with unaccompanied or separated minor refugees. Additionally, at the "Kentro Anaptixis Paidon" Centre for Child Development, Dimitris supports both neurodivergent and neurotypical children in enhancing their social skills. As a volunteer coordinator for the Scouts of Greece, Dimitris ensures a safe environment for members while addressing any violations of conduct. With a strong background in humanitarian initiatives, Dimitris co-leads a task force focused on empowering young people in humanitarian roles through the Compact for Young People in Humanitarian Action. Previous roles include project management and social work in various organizations, complemented by a solid educational background in social administration and social work from prestigious institutions.
