James McNalley

VP, of Engineering at Metafy

James McNalley is the current VP of Engineering at Metafy. Prior to joining Metafy, James served as a Strategic Consultant at Standard Cognition from January 2019 to December 2019. From June 2017 to December 2019, James was the Director of Engineering at Instacart. Prior to Instacart, James was with Amazon.com for nearly 5 years, where they served as an Engineering Manager for Amazon Disc on Demand. In this role, James managed a team of software engineers responsible for Amazon's on-demand CD/DVD production. James also oversaw the team's move from Santa Cruz to Amazon's Seattle headquarters, which involved integrating the team into Amazon's engineering culture and best practices, and evolving the technology stack so that it could interface and then become integrated with Amazon's technology stack.

Outside of their work with these companies, James has also served as an Advisor for various startups, and as CTO of PandaPick from January 2012 to May 2017. Additionally, they were a Principal Consultant at Niobite Consulting from January 2006 to December 2007, and an Engineering Lead at Teleo from January 2004 to December 2005.

James McNalley completed a BS in Computer Science at Stevens Institute of Technology, followed by an MS in the same field at the same school.
