Kyle Hogan

Lead - Laboratory Informatics at Metagenomi

Kyle Hogan's work experience starts in 2013 as a Research Intern at Oregon State University, where they collected blood and tissue samples for a pharmacokinetics study. Kyle also developed an HPLC-based assay to screen for CYP19A1 activity. From 2012 to 2014, they worked as a General and Organic Chemistry Tutor at the UC Davis Student Academic Success Center, providing tutoring and developing worksheets. In 2014, they interned with Genentech's Medicinal Chemistry Department, synthesizing and characterizing target molecules. Kyle also gained experience with NMR and LC/MS analytical systems. From 2014 to 2015, they worked as a Contractor in the Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics Department at Theravance, where they prepared biological samples for analysis and optimized LC/MS/MS methods. Kyle then joined Genentech as a Research Co-op, where they developed HPLC/MS assay protocols for analyzing excipient degradation in biopharmaceutical products. In 2015, they also worked as a Scientist at Eurofins. From 2016 to 2017, they were a Field Service Engineer at Thermo Fisher Scientific. Kyle joined Amyris in 2018 as an Operations Engineer, responsible for facilitating the collection, processing, and storage of laboratory data. Kyle also served as a consultant for data retrieval and analysis. Kyle later became a Senior Associate Scientist and then an Associate Scientist at Amyris. In 2023, they worked as a Research Systems Analyst at Eikon Therapeutics before joining Metagenomi as the Lead for Laboratory Informatics.

Kyle Hogan attended the University of California, Davis from 2010 to 2014, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry. In 2020, they also completed additional certifications in "Using Databases with Python" and the "Python for Everybody Specialization," both provided by the University of Michigan through Coursera.
