David Gavilán has worked in the software engineering industry for over 15 years. From 2001-2008, they were a Personal de Suport a la Recerca (Researcher) at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. From 2008-2012, they were a Graphics & System Programmer at GREE, where they were responsible for programming games for mobile platforms using Unity and server programming using PHP and Node.js. From 2012-2013, they were a Senior Programmer at Ninja Theory, where they were responsible for graphics programming and system wide optimizations. From 2013-2015, they were a Lead Software Engineer and Engineer Manager at Metail, and then a Senior Visualization Engineer, where they were responsible for server-side rendering.
David Gavilán has a comprehensive educational background. David attended San Juan Bosco High School from 1992 to 1996, where they earned a High School degree in Science. David then went on to the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona from 1996 to 2001, where they earned a Higher Engineer degree in Computer Science. David then moved on to the Tokyo Institute of Technology, where they earned a Master degree in Computer Science in 2003, followed by a Research Assistant (RA) degree in the same field in 2002. Finally, they graduated with a PhD in Computer Science from the Tokyo Institute of Technology in 2008.
