Nick Bateman has over 25 years of work experience in various roles and companies.
Nick is currently working as a Senior Optical Device Engineer at metalenz since April 2023.
Prior to that, from January 2021 to April 2023, they worked at Advanced Silicon Group as a Director Sensor Development. In this role, they built and analyzed silicon nanowire based photosensors, improved device sensitivity, developed algorithms, and won a $20,000 grant.

Nick Bateman's education history includes attending the Toronto French School from 1980 to 1985. Afterward, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, from 1985 to 1989. Following their undergraduate studies, they attended Yale University, where they obtained a PhD in Physics from 1989 to 1996. Finally, in 1999 to 2000, they attended the Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management, earning an MBA.
