Kevin Hu, PhD has worked in various roles since 2013. Kevin began their career as a Masters Candidate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where they focused on Visualization, contextualization, and mapping subjective experience. Their work was covered in The New York Times, Wired, and Buzzfeed. In 2013, they became a Doctoral Candidate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where they Automated data science systems components using machine learning and was published in CHI, KDD, and SIGMOD. In 2019, they became the Co-founder and CEO of Metaplane, a Datadog for data. Their role was to save engineering time and increase trust by letting data teams know when things break, what went wrong, and how to fix it.

Kevin Hu earned their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2019. In 2020, they joined Y Combinator's W20 program. Prior to that, they earned an S.M. in Data visualization and machine learning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2015, and an S.B. in Physics from the same institution in 2013.
