Sarah Gwilliam has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Sarah most recently worked as the Director of People & Operations at Meteorite, where they held the position from January 2023. Prior to this role, Sarah served as a Senior Impact Strategist at Meteorite, managing the Civic Alliance and supporting member companies in promoting civic engagement from July 2020 to January 2023.
Before joining Meteorite, Sarah worked independently as a CSR & Social Impact Consultant from November 2015 to October 2021. Sarah provided consulting services to corporations and foundations, creating cause campaigns and launching internal scholarship programs.
Sarah also has experience as the Managing Director of Social Impact and Sustainability at RF|Binder from December 2018 to August 2019, and as the Director of Partnerships & Development for the #VoteTogether initiative at Civic Nation from April 2018 to December 2018. Additionally, they worked at jcpenney as a Sr. Specialist in Philanthropy and Cause Marketing from May 2014 to November 2015, and as a Sr. Specialist in Sustainability and CSR from February 2013 to May 2014.
Earlier in their career, Sarah served as a Presidential Initiatives Fellow at World Learning, where they contributed to the development of a virtual network for alumni. Sarah also volunteered as a Practicum Volunteer at ASAPROSAR El Salvador Association for Rural Health, implementing a sustainable urban garden and supporting communication efforts.
Sarah's professional journey began as a Program Analyst with the Office of Inspector General for USAID, where they qualitatively reviewed Agency programs and worked in various countries, including Mali, Senegal, El Salvador, and Haiti. Sarah began their career as an Intern at Education for Empowerment in 2007.
Sarah Gwilliam's education history includes a BA in Global Studies with a concentration in Middle Eastern Studies from William & Mary. Sarah also studied abroad at The University of Jordan Language Center, focusing on Language and Culture. Additionally, Sarah holds a Masters degree in Sustainable Development, International Policy and Management from the SIT Graduate Institute.
