Arild Burud has extensive work experience in engineering and systems development. Arild started their career as a Structural Engineer at Aker Kvaerner, where they worked on various projects analyzing steel structures and developing software. Arild also worked as a Computer Engineer, responsible for user support, software development, and maintenance. At Tordivel AS, Burud worked as a Project Engineer and Systems Developer, programming ActiveX components and verifying software. Currently, they are employed at the Norwegian Meteorological Institute as a Senior Engineer and Systems Developer, maintaining operational production systems for weather forecasting. Arild is also involved in special projects related to marine monitoring systems.
Arild Burud attended Oppegård Videregående from 1978 to 1981, but did not earn a degree or specify a field of study during this period. Arild then enrolled in The Norwegian School of Information Technology from 1983 to 1985, earning a degree in Ingeniør / B.Sc. in Car- and Engine Technical Study. Following that, Arild Burud pursued further education at the University of Oslo (UiO) from 1985 to 2004, specializing in Information Technology, although they did not obtain a specific degree.
