Richard Shinkle has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Richard started their career as a Detail Draftsman at We-Fab Steel Co. in 1979. Richard then served in the U.S. Army as an E/W Intercept Systems Repairer from 1981 to 1989. Afterwards, they worked as a Systems Administrator at TASC from 1989 to 1994 and as a Comm Systems Site Representative at SAIC from 1994 to 1995. In 1995, they became the Director of Customer Service & Support and MIS at Aurora Technolgies until 1998.

Richard then joined Oracle (formerly Sun Microsystems) in 1998 as a Global Systems Support Engineer. Richard later took on the role of CSM, New England Fidelity, where they managed 10 on-site SSEs and partner FE at three different data centers.
