Brian Hill

Brian Hill has extensive work experience in the software engineering and electronic design automation (EDA) industries. Brian joined Metrics Design Automation in 2019 as a Senior Software Engineer. Prior to that, from 2018 to 2019, they worked at Edgewater Wireless Systems Inc. as a Senior Software Developer, where their responsibilities included developing tools for calibration and verification of wireless card technology and improving wireless card performance through embedded programming.

From 2003 to 2017, Brian worked at Synopsys Inc. as a Senior Software Engineer, contributing to software tool designs for the semiconductor industry and providing solutions for customers. Brian also served as an R&D Manager from 2008 to 2012, managing local and overseas employees, building a strong development team in Shanghai, China, and mentoring new members.

Before joining Synopsys Inc., Brian was a Member of Research and Development at Numerical Technologies Inc. from 2001 to 2003. Brian started their career at Cadabra Design Automation in 1998 as an Application Engineer, where they worked until 2001.

Brian Hill attended the University of Waterloo from 1993 to 1998. Brian did not obtain a degree or specialize in any particular field of study during their time at the university. Prior to that, from 1988 to 1993, they completed their high school education and obtained a HS Diploma from Etobicoke Collegiate Institute. In addition to their formal education, Brian has obtained several certifications, including the EXIN Agile Scrum Master certification from EXIN your ICT competence partner in October 2018, and the Concurrent Programming in Java and Parallel Programming in Java certifications from Coursera Course Certificates in September 2017.
