Ashley Apodaca has a diverse work experience starting in 2007 as a Classified Advertising Assistant for Pacific Business News. Ashley then worked as a Photojournalist for The Progress-Index before joining the University of Richmond, where they held roles as an Administrative Coordinator and Communications Specialist. Following this, they worked at Valley Catholic School & SSMO Campus as a Marketing Communications Specialist. Ashley's most recent experience is with Metro, where they started as an Associate Public Affairs Specialist and later became a Senior Public Affairs Specialist. Currently, they hold the position of Principal Public Affairs Specialist at Metro, where they are responsible for leading efforts to advance digital communications best practices and promote racial equity and inclusion.

Ashley Apodaca has a Master's Degree in Multimedia Journalism from Virginia Commonwealth University, which was completed from 2012 to 2014. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from the University of Hawaii at Manoa from 2007 to 2010.
