Cary Stacey

Cary Stacey serves as the Deputy Director for Waste Prevention and Environmental Services at Metro, directing DEI functions and applying a racial equity framework to departmental programs since July 2022. Previously, Cary held the position of Deputy Director for the Department of Community Services at Multnomah County, where efforts included developing the department's first Equity Strategic Plan. Cary's career at Metro began in 2003, with roles such as Organizational Performance Manager and Special Projects Manager, focusing on safety policies during COVID-19, DEI initiatives, and organizational development. Cary's educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature from Smith College and certificates in Strategic Organizational Management and Project Management from Portland State University.
