Joshua Steed

Joshua Steed is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in the rail industry. Currently serving as the Head of Heavy Maintenance and Contracts for Metro Trains Melbourne since January 2021, Joshua oversees a multi-disciplinary team focused on the technical and commercial delivery of rolling stock overhauls. Previously, Joshua held various leadership roles, including Vehicle Services Team Lead for SNC-Lavalin Rail & Transit, where responsibilities encompassed project governance, resource allocation, and industry relationships. Additional roles include Engineering Consultant, where key projects involved technical specifications, cost analyses, and assessments of rolling stock and maintenance practices. Joshua also served as Technical Team Lead for the Next Generation Tram project at the Department of Transport. Educational credentials include a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Monash University and an ongoing Master of Business Administration from Melbourne Business School.
