Lise Townsend is a dedicated professional with extensive experience in air quality, climate action, and sustainability. Currently serving as the Division Manager for Air Quality and Climate Action Services at Metro Vancouver since August 2023, Lise leads a high-performance team focused on reducing air pollutant emissions through science-based policy and collaboration. Previously, Lise worked at the City of Surrey as Climate Program Lead, where responsibilities included managing climate action strategies and improving organizational efficiency, as well as overseeing climate funding and public engagement. With a background that includes roles as Principal at EcoTown Consulting and Senior Sustainability Planner at the City of Burnaby, Lise has developed expertise in climate and energy policy, environmental planning, and ecosystem management. Lise holds a Master of Science in Environmental Studies from the University of Victoria and a Bachelor of Science with Distinction in Environmental Science from Royal Roads University.
