Sean Mercer

Sean Mercer is an experienced Project Engineer currently working at Metro Vancouver since December 2020, specializing in Environmental Management and Quality Control within the Liquid Waste Services department. In this role, Sean acts as the Environmental Management System Coordinator, focusing on the development and enhancement of processes following ISO 14001 standards. Previously, Sean contributed to the Design and Procurement teams for the North Shore Wastewater Treatment Plant project, negotiating procurement of essential materials and equipment. Additionally, Sean led a team in Sewer Flow Metering and Data Analysis, overseeing engineering technologists and analysts. Prior roles include a Sustainability Scholar Research Analyst at Metro Vancouver and various positions at SUEZ - Water Technologies & Solutions and GE Water & Process Technologies, among others. Sean holds a Master of Engineering Leadership in Integrated Water Management from The University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Engineering & Biosciences (Co-op) in Chemical Engineering & Bioengineering from McMaster University.
