John Montoya

John Montoya has a diverse work experience spanning from 1997 to 2022. John'smost recent role is as the Manager of Grant Administration at Metrocare Services, where they excelled in grant writing and program design, securing over $13 million in awards in fiscal year 2023. Prior to that, they founded and served as the CEO of STRATAVENTURE, a construction company focused on finish-out work. Before this, John served as the CEO of Grace Like Rain, increasing revenue by 47% and securing over $1.2 million in grant awards. John also held roles as the Chief Operating Officer and Grants Administrator/Board Member at the same organization. Additionally, they served as the Interim Executive Director/Advisory Board Member at Giving HOPE, Inc, managing the Street Outreach and Turning Point program teams. Further back, John served as the Chief Executive Officer of Habitat for Humanity of Denton County, overseeing a staff of 20 employees and managing a budget of $2.4 million. John also worked as the Director of Financial Capability Initiatives at United Way of Denton County, where they directed the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program and supervised a staff of seven site coordinators. Earlier in their career, John worked as a Field Investigator at Liberty Mutual Group Asset Management Inc and as a United States Probation Officer at the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico. John began their career as a Pre-Prosecution Diversion Program Officer at the Third Judicial District Attorney's Office. Throughout their career, John's expertise has centered around grant writing, program management, and financial initiatives.

John Montoya completed their Bachelor's degree in Psychology at The University of New Mexico from 2007 to 2008. John then pursued a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of North Texas, completing it between 2009 and 2011. In 1995, they obtained their Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration from New Mexico State University. Currently, in 2022, they are enrolled in a Fundraising Certificate program at The University of Texas at Austin's Center for Professional Education, which is expected to be completed by 2023.
