Dean Maher

Dean Maher is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in community engagement, strategic direction, and governance within various not-for-profit organizations and corporate sectors. Currently serving as a Community Engagement Advisor at Metrolinx for the Yonge North Subway Extension, Dean develops outreach strategies and strengthens public communications. As the Founding Board Director and President of The Shady Pines Housing Cooperative Inc., Dean advocates for affordable housing aimed at the LGBTQ community. Previous roles include President and Creative Director of The Dean Maher Media Group, where Dean published a prominent LGBTQ magazine, and a Financial Analyst at Rogers Communications, focusing on mitigating risks and improving revenue. Dean has also founded and led various community organizations, including the CityPlace Residents' Association and the Fort York Neighbourhood Association, showcasing a strong dedication to community development and engagement. Dean holds a degree in Business Management and Marketing from the College of the North Atlantic.
