Maya Kolaczynski is the Chief Strategy & Planning Officer at Metrolinx, where she leads the development and execution of the agency’s enterprise-wide strategic vision. She oversees a broad portfolio that includes Corporate Strategy & Centres of Excellence, Planning, Community, Communications & Stakeholder Relations, Enterprise Risk, Indigenous Strategy, and Inclusion. At the heart of her role is strategic planning—driving long-term alignment across departments, shaping investment priorities, and guiding the evolution of Metrolinx’s services to meet the future transit needs of the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA).
Maya’s leadership in strategic planning ensures that Metrolinx remains agile and forward-looking, integrating data-driven insights, stakeholder input, and policy direction to inform major decisions. Her work is instrumental in positioning the agency as a world-class transportation provider, with a clear roadmap for growth, innovation, and community impact.
Prior to joining Metrolinx, Maya was an Associate Partner at McKinsey & Company, where she led strategy and performance transformation initiatives across the public sector and financial services. Her work delivered measurable outcomes, including significant productivity gains, enhanced operational performance, and digital modernization for organizations across North America.
Earlier in her career, Maya held leadership roles at the Clinton Health Access Initiative, The Global Fund, Johnson & Johnson, and KPMG. In these roles, she led health system and business transformation programs across Africa, Europe, and North America.
Maya holds dual Master’s degrees from the Harvard Kennedy School and the MIT Sloan School of Management, as well as a Bachelor of Commerce from Queen’s University.
