Ioannis Margaris

Ioannis Margaris currently serves as the Chief Technology, Planning & Strategy Officer and Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Independent Power Transmission Operator (IPTO or ADMIE) since June 2017, overseeing infrastructure projects, procurement strategies, and investments while managing multidisciplinary teams. Prior to this, Ioannis held the position of General Manager at Ariadne Interconnection since January 2019 and served as Executive Vice Chairman and Executive Deputy CEO at the Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator SA (HEDNO) from April 2015 to June 2017. Ioannis's extensive experience includes roles as an Energy Policy Expert at CPD, Special Advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister of Greece, and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at NTUA, focusing on smart grids and renewable energy systems. Ioannis completed a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens and has contributed significantly to research on wind power integration and smart grid operation.
