Elizabeth (Liz) Jones has extensive experience in community outreach, engagement, and fund development. Currently serving as Senior Community Outreach and Engagement specialist with the Metropolitan Council of the Twin Cities and Outreach and Engagement Lead for METRO Gold Line and METRO Purple Line BRT Projects since May 2018, Liz has a strong background in public relations and communication, having earned a B.A. in Strategic Communication with a minor in Psychology from the University of Minnesota. Previous roles include positions at Washburn Center For Children and House of Charity, focusing on fund development, event planning, and stakeholder relations. Liz's early career included a campaign internship with Al Franken for Senate and involvement with AmeriCorps, emphasizing a commitment to community service and advocacy.

Metropolitan Council of the Twin Cities

The Metropolitan Council is the regional planning organization in the seven-county Twin Cities metropolitan area. We run the regional bus and light-rail system and Northstar commuter rail, collect and treat wastewater, coordinate regional water resources, plan regional parks, and administer funds that provide housing opportunities for low- and moderate-income families. Our board is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the Governor.
