Michele Maurer has extensive work experience in the legal field. Michele began their career as a Paralegal in the company Merchant & Gould, where they provided litigation support for 14 years. Michele then joined General Mills as a Senior Paralegal, where they focused on commercial contracts, litigation support, and litigation training for the Cereal and Snacks divisions. After working at General Mills for nine years, Michele joined CHS Inc. as a Senior Paralegal II, specializing in energy and litigation. Currently, Michele works at the Metropolitan Council of the Twin Cities as an Agreements Lead and Principal Contracts Administrator, where they are responsible for handling agreements related to the Metro Blue Line - Light Rail Project.

Michele Maurer holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Wisconsin, River Falls. Michele also has an ABA Certificate in Paralegal Studies from the Minnesota Paralegal Institute.

Metropolitan Council of the Twin Cities

The Metropolitan Council is the regional planning organization in the seven-county Twin Cities metropolitan area. We run the regional bus and light-rail system and Northstar commuter rail, collect and treat wastewater, coordinate regional water resources, plan regional parks, and administer funds that provide housing opportunities for low- and moderate-income families. Our board is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the Governor.
