Alejandro Vélez Salas

Alejandro Vélez Salas is a Senior Director at Metropolitan Group. Alejandro was previously a postdoctoral researcher at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, where they researched on the biometric measures to deter migration in the southern part of Mexico. Alejandro has also worked as a workshop facilitator at Museo Memoria y Tolerancia and as a postdoctoral researcher at Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, where they researched on the lack of interactional justice on the cases of enforced disappearances in Mexico. Alejandro is also a professor at Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) and a guest lecturer at Universitat Pompeu Fabra.

Alejandro Vélez Salas has a PhD in Terrorism, Surveillance, National Security, and Human Rights from Universitat Pompeu Fabra. Alejandro also did summer research in Genocide at Potocari-Srebrenica Memorial Postgraduate Research University. Their undergraduate degree is in Political Science from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México, and they went to high school at Tecnológico de Monterrey.
