Dimitris Syrmas has extensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Dimitris currently serves as the Group COO/CFO at Hellenic Healthcare Group, a position they have held since 2017. Prior to this, they held roles at Metropolitan Hospital, including Chief Business Development Officer from 2010 onwards and CIO & Quality Assurance Director from 2000 to 2009. Dimitris also served as Chief Development Officer and Board Member at IONIS DEVELOPMENT S.A. Moreover, they were the CEO of Medicina Pharmaceuticals S.A. from 2006 to 2007. Earlier in their career, they held roles at Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center, working as an IT Manager from 1999 to 2000 and a Senior Analyst from 1993 to 1999. Dimitris Syrmas has a diverse education background. In 1986, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematics from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. In 1990, they pursued a Master of Science degree with a focus on Industrial Programming from The University of Sheffield. Continuing their academic journey, Dimitris earned an MBA degree in Business Administration, Management and Operations from the University of Strathclyde in 1997. In 2006, they attended Harvard Business School for an executive education program, specializing in Health Care Delivery. Finally, in 2014, they participated in an Executive Education Programme at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, focusing on the Oxford Chicago Valuation Program.
