Chief Medical Informatics Officer at Metropolitan Hospital

Lewis Berman began their work experience as the Director of Critical Care Medicine at Norwalk Hospital/Western Connecticut Health Network in 1994. Lewis held this position until 2010, during which they also served as the Chief Medical Information Officer from 2008 to 2010. From 2010 to 2014, Berman worked as the Chairman of Medicine at the same hospital. Lewis then became the Vice President of Medical Affairs from 2014 to 2016. In 2016, Berman joined the Western Connecticut Health Network as the Associate Chief Medical Information Officer. Finally, in 2019, they became the Chief Medical Informatics Officer at Metropolitan Hospital.

Lewis Berman's education history is as follows:

Lewis Berman received their Bachelor's Degree in Biology, General from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1983. Lewis then pursued their MD degree at Albert Einstein College of Medicine from 1983 to 1987. Following this, from 1987 to 1990, they completed a Residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.

Continuing their education, Lewis Berman enrolled at Yale University School of Medicine, where they completed two Fellowship programs. First, from 1990 to 1992, they pursued a Fellowship in Medical Informatics. Then, from 1991 to 1994, they completed another Fellowship in Pulmonary-Critical Care Medicine.

In addition to their education, Lewis Berman obtained certifications in various fields. Lewis became a Certified Physician Executive (CPE) from the American Association for Physician Leadership in March 2018. Lewis also received certifications in Clinical Informatics from the American Board of Preventive Medicine in 2014, and in Critical Care Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Internal Medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine in 1995, 1994, and 1990, respectively.
