Samrina Kahlon, MD, MPH has a diverse work experience in various healthcare and academic roles. Samrina is currently a Clinical Associate Professor at New York Medical College since November 2018 and an Adjunct Professor at NYU School of Global Public Health since September 2022. In 2019, Dr. Kahlon started working as the Director of Telemedicine at NYC H+H / Metropolitan. Samrina also serves as the Editor in Chief of the Urban Medicine Journal of Quality Improvement in Healthcare and Patient Safety at Metropolitan Hospital since June 2014. Additionally, they hold the position of Patient Safety Officer at Metropolitan Hospital since November 2013. Dr. Kahlon has been an Attending Physician at NYC Health and Hospital Metropolitan Hospital since July 2013 and at Jamaica Hospital since July 2013 (ending in June 2015 and March 2015 respectively). Samrina has also taken on leadership responsibilities as the Regional Vice President at the Committee of Interns and Residents/SEIU Healthcare from March 2013 to April 2015, and previously as a Delegate from March 2011 to March 2013. Dr. Kahlon has been an Executive Patient Safety Scholar at IHI in March 2014 and an Assistant Director at Falcon Physician Review from November 2009 to March 2010. Early in their career, they worked as a Hematology/Oncology physician at Weill Cornell Medical College from December 2007 to December 2009.

Samrina Kahlon, MD, MPH has an extensive education history. In 2001, they obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Biology/phil from St. John's University. Samrina then pursued their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Ross University School of Medicine from 2003 to 2007.

After completing their undergraduate and medical studies, Samrina Kahlon focused on specialization and obtained their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree again, this time from New York Medical College. Samrina completed the Emergency Medicine Residency Program from 2010 to 2013.

Continuing their education, they pursued a Fellowship in Administration from 2013 to 2015 at New York Medical College.

In 2014, Samrina Kahlon enrolled in the Master in Public Health program at New York Medical College, specializing in Health Policy and Administration. Samrina completed their Master's degree in 2016.

In terms of additional certifications, Samrina Kahlon obtained the IHI Improvement Advisor certification in July 2021 from the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) Open School - University of British Columbia.
