Fred Ganning, Jr.

Strategic Advisor at Metropolitan Partners Group

Fred Ganning, Jr. has been on Metropolitan’s Investment Committee since 2012 and has been an investor with the Firm and with Metropolitan Venture Partners (a predecessor firm) for over 20 years. Fred’s prior experience includes a 25+ year career at ED&F Man, Man Group PLC and ED&F Man Holdings Ltd. where he was a Main Board Director for ED&F Man Holdings Ltd., as well as Managing Director for ED&F Man Cocoa and Coffee Ltd. As Managing Director, he set the strategic direction for the ED&F Man Cocoa and Coffee Ltd. division, determined trading strategies and the risk profile of the division, and managed the senior staff in physical and futures trading in London, New York, Singapore and Brazil. Fred was also the Chief Executive Officer of Raise Hope Capital LLC, a start-up company in financial services with a mission of employing people with disabilities, including American military veterans. Before joining Raise Hope, he was the president of Simplex Corporation where he managed a fund for convertible preferred equities and determined the fund’s strategies and risk profile. He received an M.B.A. in Quantitative Analysis and a B.S. in Finance from Seton Hall University. Fred also serves as an adjunct faculty member at Seton Hall University’s Stillman School of Business.
