Director Of Data at Metropolitan Police

Aimee Smith currently serves as the Director of Data at the Metropolitan Police since December 2020. Smith previously held various roles within the Metropolitan Police, including Design Lead, where oversight of the Organisational Design for the MPS Change Programme was managed, focusing on the strategic vision and culture for a workforce of 46,000. In addition, Smith led the largest Confidential Unit in UK law enforcement, managing covert intelligence operations and ensuring operational risk management. As Deputy Project Lead for Control Infrastructure, Smith contributed to the comprehensive redesign of intelligence functions across the agency. Prior experience as a Senior Intelligence Analyst included pioneering covert law enforcement functions in the UK and leading initiatives that significantly enhanced the MPS’s intercept capabilities. Aimee Smith earned a BA (Hons) First Class in Social Policy and Criminology from the University of Hull.
