Joice Gibson

Joice Gibson, Ph.D., is an accomplished music educator and certified health coach with extensive experience in both the academic and health fields. Currently affiliated with Metropolitan State University of Denver since August 1999, Joice teaches a variety of music courses, coordinates an online music introduction course, and has held multiple roles within the Music Department. Previous academic positions include course designer and adjunct instructor at Jones International University and graduate-level teaching at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Joice holds a Ph.D. in Musicology and Ethnomusicology, alongside a Master’s degree in the same field and a Bachelor’s in Music. Additionally, Joice is a Certified Independent Health Coach with OPTAVIA, emphasizing lifelong health and sustainable lifestyle changes.
