Beth Clausen

Dean, Library & Information Services at Metropolitan State University

Beth Clausen joined Metropolitan State University in 2018 after being the Head of Access Services at Northwestern University in Qatar in Doha. At Northwestern, she held several other positions within the University Libraries including Federal Documents Librarian, Head of Resource Sharing, and Library Director. She has also been a librarian at the University of Northern Iowa and the University of Southern Mississippi.

Beth has held leadership positions and committee memberships in several state and national professional organizations. Her presentation, publishing and research activities currently focus on international library resource sharing, relationships and partnerships. She is a member of the editorial board of portal: Libraries and the Academy for which she is “Global Perspectives” editor. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Political Science, and a master’s degree in Library and Information Science, both from the University of Iowa.
