Karen LaPlant is an accomplished educator and instructional designer with extensive experience in teaching and curriculum development. Currently serving as an adjunct faculty member at Minneapolis College, Northwest Technical College, and Pine Technical and Community College since January 2023, Karen specializes in online computer courses. Additionally, since January 2018, Karen has held the position of Course Design Facilitator at Encore Professional Development, co-authoring the book "Designing Effective Teaching and Significant Learning." With a strong background in information technology education, Karen retired from Hennepin Technical College in May 2018, where a robust curriculum encompassing computer and business courses was developed and taught. Karen's previous roles include adjunct instructor positions at St. Cloud State University and web design instructor at North Central University. Early career experiences include data processing and budget analysis roles with the City of Burnsville and Wright County Auditor's Office, respectively. Karen holds a Master of Science in Information Media from St. Cloud State University, attained between 1997 and 1999.
