Barbara Cockfield is an experienced leader in diversity and inclusion, currently serving as the Senior Director of Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives at the Metropolitan Transportation Authority since August 2022. Previous roles include Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at Russell Sage College, and Director of Student Engagement and Diversity Initiatives at SUNY Adirondack. Cockfield has a strong background in higher education, having managed programs aimed at supporting diverse student populations at Hillsborough Community College, where significant contributions included overseeing the Black, Brown & College Bound National Summit. Early career experiences include roles as a Resource Educator in the School District of Hillsborough County and as an Exceptional Education Teacher in Pinellas County Schools. Barbara Cockfield holds a Master’s degree in Administration and Supervision and a Bachelor's degree in Behavior Disorders, both from the University of South Florida.
