Dan Korzym

Project Director, Package B at Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority

Dan Korzym, PE, CCM has extensive work experience in project management and construction. Dan began their career as a Commissioned Officer in the U.S. Army and later worked as an Engineer for Rock Hard Excavating, Inc. Dan then transitioned to the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, where they managed the design and engineering of various projects at Washington National and Washington Dulles International Airports.

Dan also worked as a Senior Project Manager for a small consulting firm, where they were involved in proposal preparation and business development. Dan later became a self-employed Engineering and Construction consultant, providing services such as contractor oversight, construction inspection, estimating, and scheduling.

In 1997, Dan joined Fort Myer Construction Corporation as a Construction Project Manager, successfully completing bridge rehabilitation and reconstruction projects. Dan then joined WMATA as an Assistant Project Manager, leading the organizational shift to Design-Build and managing the extension of the Blue Line.

Dan's career continued to advance, and they joined URS Corp as a Deputy Office Operations Manager and later Parsons as a Principal Project Manager. In these roles, they provided project management and oversight for transportation projects, including the $350M Orange Blue Line Rehabilitation project.

Currently, Dan is working at the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority as a Project Director, overseeing Package B.

Dan Korzym, PE, CCM has a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point, which they obtained in 1976. Dan also holds a Master's degree in Engineering Administration-Construction Management from The George Washington University, which they obtained in 1988. In addition to their degrees, they have earned certifications as a Professional Engineer (PE) from VA DPOR in 1989 and as a Certified Construction Manager (CCM) from the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) in 2015.
