James Wasem

James Wasem currently serves as the Deputy Chief Of Police for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority since April 2019. Prior to this role, James was semi-retired for a brief period in March 2019 after working as the Human Resources Commander for the Arlington County Police Department, where responsibilities included leading a team focused on hiring and training personnel in law enforcement. James has held various significant positions within the Arlington County police system, including Criminal Investigations Commander, Special Operations/SWAT Commander, and Patrol Commander, demonstrating a strong commitment to public safety and effective law enforcement leadership. James has also contributed regionally as the Chairperson for the Police CID Commanders Sub-Committee and held the Internal Affairs Commander role, focusing on compliance and administrative investigations. Educational qualifications include a Master of Public Administration from George Mason University and several graduate certificates in related fields.
