David Brandwein has extensive experience in law enforcement, currently serving as Police Commander in the Office of Neighborhood Based Policing for the Village of Palatine since July 2008. Prior roles include Police Sergeant in the patrol division and Patrol Officer. Prior to this, David worked as a Patrol Officer for the Village of Cary, Illinois from July 2002 to July 2008. David holds a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Northeastern Illinois University and a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Northern Illinois University, supplemented by studies at Harper College and Northwestern University, where David completed the School of Police Staff & Command.

Village of Palatine

Palatine is a Village in Cook County, Illinois, United States. It is a northwestern residential suburb of Chicago. As of the 2011 census, the village had a total population of 68,858. Palatine operates under the Council-manager form of local government. Six councilmen are elected from their respective districts, while the entire village elects the Village Clerk and the Mayor. The council then hires a Village Manager to oversee the town's day-to-day operation. The current mayor is Jim Schwantz.
